Description
What they say about themselves
The attractive vegetarian and organic menu comes from locally sourced produce and features wholesome porridge, freshly squeezed orange juice and a range of smoothies at breakfast time, with "funky" salads, hearty soups, Asian snacks and homemade cakes served throughout the day. All the food is of course accompanied by first class teas and coffees
Our Reviews
My first impression of Lata was style over substance, great decor; paintings on the wall and a crowd in there that were just looking for an upper class place too eat. But , if I thought a bit more deeply about it, that in itself is fine and the fact it's a vegetarian restaurant in Wolverhampton that caters for vegans means it is really cool and needed, as so many have bit the dust locally in recent months. The food was well presented and cooked in a decent time considering the amount of people there at the time, I had a pasta meal with pesto and almond 's in it which tasted great. I informed the staff that i was vegan, which was not a problem and they seem interested in my belief's. The prices are slightly higher than most places in wolves but sometimes you pay for what you get and the surrounding's you are in. I would say to give it a try just once and see how you like it, its your choice at the end of the day.

"Recently went there with a couple of vegan friends, as I had been there previously and had enjoyed good vegan food. However, the menu seems to have changed, and whilst there are still vegetarian options, there didn't seem to be anything for vegans. We enquired about the butternut squash risotto (which seemed possible), but was informed that it had been changed to salmon & pea. The waitress then suggested that we had brie on a panini instead of cheddar, so we had to explain that that wasn't actually vegan. We then asked if we could just have some chips and a salad. After about 10 mins, the waitress returned and told us that the chef was swearing and in a bad mood because they were short-staffed and it was busy, and he didn't know if he could do us any chips or not, as he didn't have any ready! We ended up having a couple of veg samosas with a pot of mango chutney and a few salad leaves. The only plus side was that they decided not to charge us for our food, as we'd had to wait so long. I don't think I'll be returning somehow! "
